Deborah Gardner
Her Role
As the Head of Education, and a member of the founding team, Deb is committed to providing the training essential for ethical and engaged psychedelic therapists. Deb is passionate about creating authentic, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences for mental health professionals.
Her Story
A former English teacher of neurodiverse students, Deb grew a deep respect for the way in which accessible education can empower students and change lives. After moving from the East Coast to Colorado, Deb had the opportunity to work closely with the founder of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, a somatic therapy, an experience that changed the way she thought about trauma therapy, education, and existence. As the Director of Education at Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute, Deb was responsible for leading an international faculty of over 40 leading trauma therapists, building and maintaining the 300+ hour certification program, and successfully moved the experiential, relational training to an online format to meet the needs of busy professionals.
Her Why
After a decade in the field of trauma therapy, Deb saw the need for more effective options for healing, particularly for folx who have not had success with traditional talk therapy, or who experience the impact of ongoing, historical, and transgenerational trauma. Working with fields of consciousness in plant therapy opens up so many opportunities for meaningful and lasting transformations.
